What people say

The thing that most impresses me about Nikki is her response time, her patience and the way she addresses and resolves any possible issues. She built my web site according to my requirements and made everything work perfectly. Several times I have had questions on weekends and late at night.
Nikki always responds immediately.

I was referred to Nikki for a new insight on the design for our restaurants’ menu. Instantly we connected with our ideas and collaborated on a new look. Working with Nikki was stress free and pleasant, she understood the direction we wanted to go. The result exceeded my expectations, I would happily refer Nikki to anyone and work with her again.

General Manager (pre 2016), St. Regis Bar and Grill

Nikki Kent’s assistance helping to keep my course website secure and running smoothly has been a huge support in my work as an instructor. Nikki has been able to provide advice on a number of issues I’ve had including security, database maintenance, theme and plugin support and bug fixes. Additionally, Nikki has also offered guidance on WordPress website management and potential performance improvement. I’ve really appreciated her attention to detail, work ethic and quick turn around time. On a more personal note, Nikki has a really approachable, warm personality — I’ve truly enjoyed working with her!

Milliken Development Corporation has worked with Nikki Kent of Nikkles Visuals [*updated to Design Agency] for about 2 years.

We’re a property development company that has frequent need for first class promotional materials for presentations, advertising, on site displays, websites, etc. etc.  Nikki has become indispensable to MDC in creating professional, first class promotional materials of all types.

Nikki is a rare “Yes is the answer.  What’s the question?” person.  She has performed for us, without exception and many times, under tight time frames.  The product she has delivered is always exactly what we wanted, or better.  It’s always first class.  And her bills are fair and reasonable.

Nikki is smart, thorough, experienced, and highly professional.  I recommend Nikkles Visuals without hesitation.  Do yourself a favour.

I didn’t know where to begin developing my new business and Nikki was there to execute a small idea and bring it to life. In the past I worked with her in a corporate setting and that is how we met. She created my logo in one sample, she really understood what I was looking for (even though I wasn’t sure myself!). Whenever I need clarity and advice she’s always there happy to respond. Any website changes I had throughout the year she did almost immediately and with attention to detail. I have received compliments from every tour guests about how great my website is, I was happy to tell them Nikki is the genius behind the site and not me. Anyone who has the pleasure to work with her will not be let down. I recommend using Nikki for any small business or corporate projects!

Quick FAQ’s

Billing:

I bill monthly, unless the job is a one-time project, with short build life, and we state that in our contract.

A deposit of 50% of the total estimated project may be required before starting.

Rush and overtime:

Estimates are based on a reasonable time schedule and may be revised to take into consideration your “Priority Scheduling” requests requiring overtime and weekends. Knowledge of your deadlines is essential to provide an accurate estimate.

If something is completely urgent, it can be completed within your timeline. There may be a 30% rush fee added, depending on our agreement. This looks after the rescheduling of other jobs, and pays the overtime hour fee.

How much does it cost for creative?

How many concepts would you want to see? What is a logo worth to your business? These are all things to take into consideration.

Is it a campaign that needs to say something specific, in a small amount of time and space?

The value is proportional to the value of your brand.

I can offer you suggestions to keep it within your budget. It can be a quick process, or a long one. It depends on what you are looking for, how much illustration is involved. How much customization of fonts are there?

Logos start at $500.00, and can be planned out. The more info I have about a project, the better I can estimate.

Charges:

Fixed rate is by job, and hourly is by time. Most jobs I do are hourly, with an estimate of time. I have a pretty good idea what time a project will take.

Everything is tracked, so I can let you know where we are at all times within the budget. If you are on a tight budget, I will offer suggestions throughout the process that will keep the project in scope and on time.

You get 100% commitment from me. I care about my clients. My response time is prompt, and I work with the latest in software.

I choose my clients carefully.

How much to build a website?

It varies for every site.

If you want a theme with WordPress installed, have it styled to your brand, content added, and launched it won’t be under $2500.

For a brochure website, with creative mockups (and pages set up to those mock ups), will run you about $5,500.00. If you require more design or programming work for your site, I’ll give you an estimate.

There are alternatives, (if you don’t want to spend at least 2k), such as Shopify (if you have a shop), or other self creating sites like WIX or Squarespace.

Don’t forget, once you build a website, it should be maintained and kept up to date, or things may break. Check out my packages for maintenance here. Note, I only maintain sites built by NDA, there are many of reasons for that.
